Tips to Looking Fresh after a Sleepless Night (Motherhood)

If you are a mother, than you have probably been through those sleepless nights when your kid won’t stop crying.

You may go through these times a lot during your motherhood days and it is therefore important that you know the tips to looking fresh in the morning. If you have work in the morning, or any other commitment, you need to look awake for that. You don’t want to look exhausted and like you haven’t slept at night because otherwise people are going to talk.

Here are a few simple tips for mothers to look fresh and awake after a sleepless night:

Wash your face with cold water:

If your kid didn’t let you sleep for at least 8 hours (in my case they never do!), you may need to do a few things to look awake. The first step for that is to wash your face with cold water. The tingling sensation caused by cold water will wake up your senses and your face will have a smoother and toned appearance.

Get rid of those puffy eyes:

Puffy eyes in the morning loudly scream ‘I didn’t sleep last night’. In the morning if you find yourself with big puffy eyes, make sure you get rid of them before applying any makeup. A simple way for that is to apply something cold on your eyes such as cucumber slices or cold spoons, or ice cubes infused with herbs, like camomile or mint. This will reduce the swelling under your eyes.

Moisturize your face:

A sleepless night can often lead to dry and flaky skin in the morning. After washing your face with cold water, make sure to moisturize it well.
Open your eyes up: Make-up always helps! If your eyes look wide-open, no one will be able to tell that you had a sleepless night. Curl your eyelashes and make sure that you apply several coats of mascara in order to make your eyes pop. Don’t forget to apply mascara on your lower lashes and you can even apply white eyeliner on the inner corner or your eyes.
Don’t use dark eyeliner on a water line, it’ll make your eyes looks smaller.

Add some color:

Lack of sleep can result in your skin looking dull. You can brighten your face by applying color to your cheeks or lips. When you apply a bold lip color, it will take away the focus from your eyes so no one is going to notice if your eyes look tired.

All of these tips are super easy and quick to perform. Try these out in the morning after a sleepless night and no one will be able to tell that you didn’t get a good night’s sleep.
